Here are six different ways that you can make homemade mosquito repellent so you can enjoy the great outdoors this Summer without being lunch for some mosquitos.
1. Witch Hazel - Take 1/3 Cup of Witch Hazel mixed with 40 drops of essential oils. In a spray bottle, mix the witch hazel along with your choice of essential oil. Shake up the bottle and you are all set for Summer.
2. Apple Cider Vinegar - Using 1/4 cup of Apple Cider Vinegar mix it together with a 1/4 cup of water and add 40 drops of your favorite essential oil. Shake up all the ingredients and you are all set.
3. Coconut Oil - Take a 1/3 cup of coconut oil and mix it with 15 drops of essential oil of your choice and mix it together in a jar. When you want to use this mixture, just apply it by hand over your exposed skin.
4. Isopropyl Alcohol - Mix together 1/2 cup of Isopropyl Alcohol, 1/2 Cup of water, and 25 drops of essential oils in a spray bottle. Spray as needed throughout the Summer.
5. White Vinegar - Take 1 cup of white vinegar and mix it together with 50 drops of essential oils in a spray bottle. Because of the smell of the vinegar, a more pleasant-smelling oil is advised for this mixture.
6. Lemon Juice - Using the juice of three lemons, mix it together with 2 cups of water. Boil the mixture and then let it steep for about an hour. After letting it cool, take the mixture and put it into a spray bottle, and use it all Summer.
With all these mixtures, make sure to test them on a small area of your skin just in case you get an allergic reaction to the mixture.
