If you are the kind of person who likes to post photos of your meals on social media, it might be helping you lose weight.

According to new research, seeing your meals and sharing the image with others seems to deter binge eating.

"Taking a snap of your meal doesn't only make others envious of your feed, but it may also help get rid of your muffin top," nutritionist Dr Marilyn Glenville tells the Daily Mail.

In addition to snapping and sharing pics of your food, listening to yourself chewing can also prevent overeating.

"The so-called 'Crunch Effect' suggests you're more likely to eat less if you're more conscious of the sound your food makes while you're eating," says the Daily Mail.
