Buffalo style pizza is the most underrated style of pizza in the United States. It's a little thicker than New York style, with extra cheese, sweeter sauce and cup-and-char pepperoni.

There are actually more pizzerias per capita in the greater Buffalo area, than there are in New York City, as crazy as that sounds. There is nothing like Buffalo style pizza and locals have loved it for decades.

When it comes to Buffalo style pizza, you imagine Picasso's, Bocce Club and La Nova.

Another famous Buffalo style pizza is Imperial Pizza.

Located on Abbott Road in South Buffalo, Imperial Pizza is famous in Buffalo for their pizza and downright legendary for those who live in South Buffalo. They're very similar to Bocce Club in thickness and with their sweet sauce.

Imperial remodeled their takeout-only location in 2019. It's now a massive bar and restaurant, which has increased the volume of traffic on Abbott Road.

If you remember a year or two ago, Imperial was supposed to have a second location in Amherst. That never materialized but now, Imperial will get a second location in the City of Buffalo.

Buffalo Business First reports that they will soon open a 4,700-square-feet site at 1661 Main Street in Buffalo, which is the MidCity Apartment Building. The new location was first reported by Buffalo Rising.

It's not far from Canisius College.

The new location will serve the same great food but also have restaurant, counter and even a banquet area for parties and weddings.

Imperial Pizza also hasn't shut the door on more locations in the future, which includes the north towns.

This location is phenomenal. It's near the I-198 and down the road from Canisius College.
