According to Polish custom Dyngus Day is a traditional fertility rite celebration following Lent.  The Monday following Easter each year women target the men that catch their eye while the guys squirt women with water.  It's all in good fun with food, drinks and dancing involved.

Dyngus Day is another one of those unique traditions that Buffalo and Western New York embrace, but other parts of the country have no idea what you're talking about.  And I was surprised that some people right here in the Buffalo area aren't really sure what the whole thing is about.
