There are reports that one of the biggest retailers in the United States may actually be making a comeback after recently being closed in New York State. Don't throw away those Buy Buy Baby gift cards just.

Everyone has their favorite place to shop and, for some, that means shopping for baby clothes and gifts. It seems that after the COVID pandemic, there has been a baby boom! There is no doubt that you know someone who is pregnant or recently has had a child. We recently welcomed our fourth child and were sad to hear about Buy Buy Baby closing.

There MAY be some good news. Recent reports indicate that Buy Buy Baby could possibly survive the bankruptcy it had previously been a part of.

CNBC has reported an online competitor -- Babylist -- and an unnamed retail group have expressed interest in buying part or all of Buy Buy Baby's assets.

There have also been discussions to sell the retailer to the private-equity firm behind the children’s apparel brand Janie and Jack, The Wall Street Journal reported this week.

Using March 2019 data from the Social Security Administration, Stacker compiled a list of the most popular names in each of the 50 states and Washington D.C., according to their 2018 SSA rankings. The top five boy names and top five girl names are listed for each state, as well as the number of babies born in 2018 with that name. Historically common names like Michael only made the top five in three states, while the less common name Harper ranks in the top five for 22 states.
