It's Buffalo News Kids Day! On your way to work, watch for volunteers at intersections around Western new York selling the special edition of The  Buffalo News.

Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown and Country Executive Polancarz, will be part of the patrol that is peddling papers for a great purpose today. I can recall selling the papers on Buffalo News Kids Day when it was in the winter. It always seemed to be the coldest day of the year and because of the time of the year, it stayed darker longer in the morning.

A few years ago the vent was moved to spring and this year falls 8 months before Christmas. It's never a bad time of the year to give and your donations go a long way to a variety of types of child care for the kids in Western New York.

When you buy your paper, proudly display it on the dashboard of your car or truck. Volunteers will know that you have contributed and they can move on to other vehicles that me like to purchase the Kids Day paper.

Since 1983, Kids Day contributions have totaled more than $4.6 million – helping children all across Western New York. Papers are only $1.
