Niagara County Law Enforcement Busts 18 Suspects This Week

Police in Niagara County spent the past week arresting people accused of crimes. Niagara County comprises several cities, towns, and villages, including the City of Lockport, the City of North Tonawanda, the City of Niagara Falls, the Town of Lewiston, the Town of Lockport, the Town of Wheatfield, and the Village of Youngstown.

An inmate in the Niagara County Jail tried to escape. However, the attempt was unsuccessful. The 35-year-old man tried to break free from the Niagara County Sheriff's Office's grip last week, but failed, according to WIVB Channel 4. Robert Cox tried to make his escape on February 5, 2026. A corrections sergeant suffered injuries during the incident. Cox is now facing additional charges, including attempted escape, obstruction of governmental administration and assault.
