A store that many Western New Yorkers used to shop at could be making a comeback to the 716.

Ames announced that they are getting ready to reopen several brick-and-mortar stores across the country.

If you are like me, you grew up shopping at Ames looking to get plenty of deals. I grew up in West Seneca and used to go to the Ames that was in the Southgate Plaza.

In fact, my brother Ed's first job was at the Ames, so I am excited to see that Ames could be coming back to Western New York.

Ames officially closed down on back on October 19th, 2002. At the time of their closing, Ames had over 320 stores across the country.

Ames was supposed to open some new stores in 2023, but that never happened so here is hoping that we will see some Ames stores opening up over the next couple of years.
