Today will be the nicest day of the week when it comes to the weather and it could end up being a record-setting day as well.

The current record high for March 19th in Buffalo is 74, which was set back in 2012.

If things all work out we could end up tying or even breaking that record today. Most weather models are calling for sunny skies with a high temperature in the mid-70s.

Everything would have to work out if we were going to hit the record. If we do, this would be the second time this week we would set a new record.

This past Sunday, in the midst of some crazy thunderstorms and wind, we set a new record high. The high temperature in Buffalo on Sunday hit 75 which shattered the old record of 70 by five degrees. That old record was set back in 1990.

Don't get used to this warm weather. We are looking at a cold front out west getting ready to sweep across the region and it will bring cooler temperatures along with plenty of rain.

Tomorrow's high will be around 55 with most of the heavy rain expected between 8 am and 2 pm. That rain will then be on and off for the rest of the day with it moving to our east by Thursday night.

Friday will be sunny but much colder with a high of only 44.

Welcome to Western in the month of March where you see 30-degree swings in temps on a daily basis.
