Winter is here to stay in Western New York. After a weekend of snow and bitter cold, more nasty weather is headed our way.

Winter Weather Alert New York State

Most of Western New York is under a Winter Storm Warning until 7 pm tonight. When that alert expires, another alert will take over.

There is a Cold Weather Advisory in place for most of Western New York. The advisory is starting at 10 pm tonight and will continue until 1 pm on Tuesday afternoon. Temperatures will drop into the single digits, with wind chills dropping down to as cold as -25 degrees.


Cold weather is expected all this week as well. High temperatures will remain in the teens for most of the week. with lows dropping to single digits, with some sub-zero temperatures possible.

The chill will remain in Western New York for a long time. According to the 30 Day forecast from World Weather Info, the next time our high temperature may not get above freezing (32 degrees) until the end of February. The next time the project high will be above 32 degrees is on February 20th, 2026.
