Josh Allen Sets Major Buffalo Bills Record During New England Game
When the afternoon of Sunday, October 4, 2026, rolled around, Buffalo's QB1 would end the day with some bittersweet feelings. On one hand, Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills lost their first game of the season against their arch rivals, the New England Patriots, in a tough 29-26 defeat. However, on the other hand, Josh Allen has once again etched his name in the NFL and Buffalo Bills record books by doing yet another thing that no other Buffalo Bills player has done.
During the second quarter of the Week 4 matchup against the Patriots, Josh Allen and the Buffalo snowplow tush-pushed JA17 two yards into the end zone for a touchdown, which tied the game against New England at 14 apiece. That score also gave Allen sole possession of the Buffalo Bills' career touchdown record.
Before the game, Allen was tied with Thurman Thomas and Andre Reed with 87 touchdowns. Now, not only does Allen hold the Bills record for most total touchdowns, but he also holds the record for most touchdowns scored from scrimmage with 88.
Since Allen entered the league, he has scored 86 rushing touchdowns and 2 receiving touchdowns.
Not that we hadn't figured this out yet, but Josh Allen is going to go down as the greatest Buffalo Bills player ever.
Now, while the sting of losing to the Patriots might hurt in the short term, there is no doubt that JA17 is a once-in-a-generation type of talent that the fans of Buffalo will talk about for years to come.
Way to go, Josh! Buffalo is proud of you and all you've accomplished for the city and the franchise.
