One week from Friday, I will be taking my seat inside the First Niagara Center in downtown Buffalo to see a band that I have been following for over 35 years: RUSH. Yes, I know they are not country, but this band was part of my personal musical soundtrack through my late teenage years and as I made my way into adulthood. My first two RUSH albums I owned were 2112 and A Farewell To Kings. These were both huge favorites on the 8-track player in my Pontiac GTO.

RUSH started out in 1968 in the Willowdale neighborhood of Tornto. The current line-up of Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart have been together since 1974. While they are certainly not everyone's cup of tea, they are three of rock music's best musicians hands down. And how many rock bands have been together for as long as these guys and are still making new music and touring? During their career, RUSH has accumulated 24 Gold records, 14 Platinum and 3 Multi-platinum. How many other rock bands have sold those kinds of numbers?

So, on Friday, October 26th, I will be taking a step back in time and perhaps also taking a step into the future as I experience an old favorite band doing some of the classics I grew up with and some new material from the new album Clockwork Angels. Who says you can't go home?
