The Buffalo Bills went into the 2022 off-season with few needs, especially after they signed the likes of edge rusher Von Miller in free agency.

The Bills also signed defensive tackles Tim Settle and Jordan Phillips, offensive lineman Rodger Saffold and David Quessenbery, running back Duke Johnson, wide receiver Jamison Crowder and trading for backup quarterback, Case Keenum.

But fans here in Western New York all agreed that cornerback was still a depth need heading into the 2022 NFL Draft.

General manager Brandon Beane agreed, as the Bills traded up two spots to select Florida cornerback Kaiir Elam with the 23rd overall pick.

Elam is a long and athletic corner. He's 6'1'' and good in press-man coverage with experience at zone coverage, which is beneficial to the Bills defense.

Elam's dad and uncle both played in the NFL in the secondary, so he was fully prepared for what to expect in the league. But did you know that Elam was also coached up by a Hall of Fame head coach?

Cover 1 made reference to the fact that Elam was once coached up by former NFL head coach, Bill Parcells.

Parcells is a Hall of Famer and regarded as one of the best coaches in NFL history. He's been a head coach for the New York Giants, New England Patriots, New York Jets and Dallas Cowboys. He has also been in the front office for the Jets and Miami Dolphins.

Elam talked to the Bills at the NFL Combine that Parcells gave him pointers on his technique and tape. Brandon Beane also made reference to Elam being coached up by Parcells.
