It makes total sense when I hear the older generation say that kids should be exposed to things when they are young to prevent certain illnesses from occurring. How else are kids going to build immune systems? It seems these days that parents go out of their way to keep their kids away from just about everything. They may want to read this report I found today.It seems as though kids that have dog or cats in their house during infancy will be less likely to get respiratory issues later on.

The report on ABCNews.com also indicates that kids with pets in the house from an early age are less likely to have strong colds and other infections. Plus when kids grow up with dogs and cats they have a buddy to play!
