This Is The New Hottest Band In Western New York?
Western New York has added another set of talented musicians to its ever-growing list of bands.

With the Buffalo Irish Festival happening this weekend, it seemed as appropriate of a time as ever to announce their social media debut.
One of the musicians posted a call-out about six months ago for bandmates on Buffalo’s subReddit, asking for some specific talents, including: a fiddle, bass, accordion/concertina, maybe another guitar, and, if possible, a banjo or bazuki player.
“I’m putting together a Celtic Rock band looking to cover the likes of The Pogues, Flogging Molly, and some traditional Irish songs.”
Well, we finally have an update…and an official band name!
“It's been about 6 months since I made this post and we are now ready to play some shows,” one of the band members posted on Reddit.
“We are the Kings Highwaymen!”
The Kings Highwaymen have a little under an hour of Irish traditional and punk covers mixed with some originals in the same style, and they are officially ready for booking. However, they are still looking to book that first gig.
They promised to provide updates on their first show when they get it put in place, but for now, we can enjoy some of the song covers that the Kings Highwaymen have shared on their Instagram.
My personal favorite is their rendition of Zombie by the Cranberries.
Since the Kings Highwaymen are just getting started, they will not be at the Buffalo Irish Festival this year, but there is plenty to do at this year’s celebration.
The festival will be held all weekend long at The Outer Harbor with continuous Irish entertainment from the U.S., Canada and Ireland, featuring a kick-off parade (flags raised from the 32 counties in Ireland), traditional Irish music, folk music, step and set-dancing, genealogy experts, exclusively Irish goods and crafts from nearly 30 individual vendors, Irish authors and book signings, and OF COURSE traditional Irish foods and beverages.
