Warning For Labor Day Travelers In New York State

2024 has been one of the busiest summers for travel in New York State history, and you can  bet that this Labor Day weekend will be no exception. 

Labor Day is often the last chance for many New Yorkers to get out of town and enjoy what’s left of the summer season before the crazy schedules that come with fall, so we can expect it to get pretty hectic. 

Airports all over the Empire State like Albany International, Buffalo-Niagara, Frederick Douglas-Greater Rochester, and Syracuse-Hancock, and will be packed with people flying out for a long-weekend getaway, leading to a massive number of stressed out travelers. 

Instead of freaking out, there are some steps you can take ahead of time to prevent any looming issues in getting to your Labor Day destination. 

TSA Issues Warning Ahead Of Labor Day Travel

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) cautions that airports across New York State will see an increase in travelers as early as Thursday, August 29th with nearly 17 million travelers expected to be screened at checkpoints nationwide throughout the weekend. The peak travel day is anticipated to be August 30th, when TSA expects to screen 2.86 million people.
