Clay + Dale Try a Lake Erie Beach Fish Fry [PICTURES]

Our thanks to chief Mike Emhof, Jr. and the entire crew at Lake Erie Beach Fire Department for their invitation to enjoy their Lenten fish fry.  Every Friday during Lent, they serve up an average of 500 fish fries each week, and Clay and I agreed it's one of the best around.

All the sides are homemade.  The coleslaw, macaroni and potato salad are made from scratch and it's the guys who do it.  They do all the cooking, chopping and mixing.  And you get your choice of potato - fries, American or German potato salad.

And boy do I ever recommend the German.  It's like my grandmother used to make and nobody did it better than my grandmother.  Adult dinners are $9.50, children's portion $8.50.
