[WATCH] Lamar Jackson Pushes Buffalo Bills Fan
Keep your hands to yourself. It's something your parents preached, probably. In the NFL, that rule is sometimes murky at best, and it has the former MVP of the league in hot water.
The Buffalo Bills pulled off a stunning comeback to defeat the Baltimore Ravens 41-40 last night. The Bills trailed by 15 points with under 6 minutes to play, but rallied. Just signed kicker Matt Prater kicked the game-winning field goal as time expired. It was an improbable win as the Bills were being beaten by the Ravens all evening. Still, they found a way to win, setting in stone a heated rivalry that will no doubt carry into the postseason.
Emotions were high, and it seems to have gotten the best of the former MVP Lamar Jackson.
As the Ravens were leaving the field at presumably halftime, Buffalo Fans were giving them helmet taps: a pretty typical scene for home and away teams when they come close to the fans, and they were literally next to them as they left the field. A fan seems to slap the Ravens’ De’Andre Hopkins hard on the head, then push Jackson in the facemask, which prompted Jackson to push the fan hard. Watch the video:

Jackson apologized for his reaction, saying,
“I let my emotions get the best of me… I'll learn from that.”
Now, to be clear, it's best to keep your hands to yourself. How hard was the head slap and push? It's tough to know, but we can't condone this kind of behavior. Fans should never try to injure a player and keep their hands to themselves.
That being said, Jackson is a world-class athlete; the fans are not (typically). He could have seriously injured that fan. Every team in the NFL tells its players to never get into a physical altercation with fans for various legal reasons, let alone safety. One player may be a world-class athlete, but they don't stand a chance against a horde of fans.
Ultimately, a lot of wrong was done here. There's a good chance Jackson will face fines, and possibly more.
Next up, the Bills travel to New Jersey to play the Jets at 1 pm on Sunday, September 14.
