Today was a big day for me.  I grew up in Springville, NY.  It was the home of "Pop" Warner.  If you don't know who that is, you should read up on him.  Football has always been a big part of my life.  Now, it's an even bigger part.

I'm not going to lie.  When my son was born, I automatically fast forwarded in my mind to the day that he would put a helmet and some pads on.  It's a sport that I believe in.  It taught me more than how to play the game.  It taught me about working hard and working well with others.  It taught me how to be a good student and how to lead others.  Needless to say some of the best days of my life growing up revolved around playing football.

You can imagine how excited I was when my son said that he wanted to play too.  Now don't get me wrong.  I'm totally prepared for him to not like it as much as I did.  That might happen.  And if it does, it's fine. I'm not going to demand that he play because I did.  But I really believe that if he puts the effort in, he's going to love it.  And it will teach him life lessons that you just can't learn anywhere else.

There's just something really exciting about having something in common with your kids other than looks.  So here we go.  Little League...here we come!
