Defending Monster Energy NASCAR Cup champion Joey Logano assured himself a spot in the playoffs by driving his Number-22 Ford Mustang to his 22nd career victory by holding off his Team Penske teammate Brad Keselowski on the final lap to win Sunday's Cup race at Las Vegas.  Appropriately he won the Pennzoil 400 driving his Pennzoil sponsored Mustang and celebrated by doing donuts in the infield logo.

Keselowski, who won last week at Atlanta, was gaining on Logano over the final laps and almost caught him thru turns 3 and 4 on the final lap but Logano blocked him to win by two car lengths.

Kyle Busch overcame a pit road speeding penalty to finish third and came up short of sweeping the weekend at Vegas.  He won the Xfinity and Truck Series races and a win on Sunday would have given him his third sweep of three national series races in a single weekend.  He's the only driver in NASCAR history to accomplish the fete.

Pole winner Kevin Harvick led a race-high 88 laps to finish fourth and Kurt Busch completed the Top 5.

Except for the stage breaks there were no cautions during the race.

It's off to Phoenix next weekend.
