People are always looking for ways to help others during the holidays and this is a big need right here in Western New York.

Feed More WNY is looking for volunteers to help deliver meals to people who need them this holiday season.

According to WKBW, they are experiencing what they call an "urgent need" for volunteers. Feed More WNY is a combination of what used to be the Western New York Food Bank and Meals on Wheels and they deliver thousands of meals to people who cannot get them on their own. Just since March (at the beginning of the pandemic) they have around 3,200 new clients who need meals.  On average 21,000-31,000 meals are delivered across Western New York this year. That's a lot of meals!

They need your help. At the beginning of the pandemic, they had volunteers who were home from work or from school, but now because so many of them are heading back, they are in need of people to help get these meals into homes.

"We are looking for more volunteers to help us make those deliveries in order to feed our homebound neighbors." - Catherine Shick, FeedMore WNY Communications Director

They ask that if you are healthy and able to deliver meals to neighbors in need, click here. You can also call 716-822-2002.

As a family, we deliver Thanksgiving meals through our church and have found it is one of the most rewarding things we do all year. It feels great to be able to help when you can.

They are also encouraging people who do not have the time to volunteer to contribute in other ways.  If you would like to make a donation, call them at the number above, or consider these Buffalo Strong t-shirts and hoodies. They make great gifts and proceeds from each sale go directly to FeedMore WNY.
