One of the true legends in country music has had to cancel a couple of shows. Loretta Lynn has had to make changes to her schedule this summer and is still recovering from the effects of a stroke.

Country music has evolved since the days that Loretta Lynn was a standard on country radio. The debate about real country v. pop country may never be resolved as the large record companies and the artists continue to generate a sound that is further and further from the roots and tradition that made country music the most programed format on radio.

The "Coal Miner's Daughter" suffered a stroke early in May and has since been rehabbing.

Loretta Lynn is scheduled to appear in Western New York this fall. The Seneca Allegany Casino has her slated to perform on October 28th.

According to the venues, Lynn's show for July 7th, 21st have been cancelled due to events "beyond our control."
