This afternoon, Coach McDermott said that two major players will not be playing against Jacksonville on Monday.  But is there good news in disguise with this update?

The Buffalo Bills have been bitten by the injury bug already in this 2024-2025 season.  It started with Matt Milano going out in training camp with a torn bicep, an injury that will take some time to recover from.  Then in week one, the Bills lost their nickel corner who has had such a huge impact on this team in key moments, Taron Johnson, with a forearm injury.  The most recent injury happened last Thursday night as the Bills took on the Dolphins in Miami.  The team's newest captain and middle linebacker, Terrel Bernard went out with a pectoral injury.

We already knew that Milano is going to be out for quite a few weeks.  Today we found out during a press conference with head coach Sean McDermott that both captain Terrel Bernard and Taron Johnson will be inactive against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

It's obviously bad news, however, it doesn't feel like it's the end of the world already for the Bills.  Not only have their backups, Cam Lewis and Baylon Spector, both been playing well since they went out, there could be more good news.

As of right now, the Bills have not put either of the two players on Injured Reserve.  Normally a team will do that when a player is going to be out for a number of weeks.  That way they can bring another player up to the roster to fill their spot until they recover.  When they go to IR, they will automatically be ineligible to play for at least 4 weeks.  While it's still not off the table, the Bills are still trying to decide if they might be able to come back before that 4 week minimum is up.  So could this be good news in disguise?  Could Johnson and Bernard be back sooner than 4 weeks?
