Major Toll Change Happening in New York State in March

The government said that New York State has to change this by March and that it is not right. New Yorkers, you can imagine, are thrilled.

In New York, if you are trying to get over certain bridges by New York City, and at SPECIFIC TIMES, the toll was risen to $9.

Now, the federal government is saying that the price hike is too crazy and that they need to reverse the decision.

New York State and Governor Hochul is saying that they will certainly not be turning off the toll cameras in the new price-hike areas. New York State was sent a letter from the federal government.  (New York) and its project sponsors must cease the collection of tolls on federal-aid highways in the (congestion pricing) area by March 21,” the letter said according to Times Union.

As of right now, the tolls have really gone up across New York State. The best thing that you can do is to get an EZ Pass for your car. That way the toll will just come right off of your account. If you do not have a pass then you will be sent a letter to pay. The extras fees tacked on for that are pretty wild. Yout 50 cent toll would be somewhere around 8 dollars. Of course, if you get a letter at your home you have to make sure that you are getting it from New York State and it is not a scam.

There have been tons of reports of people getting scammed via letter or text message because they have not paid their toll. Always remember if you think it is fishy, you should call.
