Man Arrested For Driving Drunk On His Lawn Mower In New York State
Sometimes you see stories that make you do a double-take. Stories so bizarre that you say, "wait, really?" This story qualifies and it happened in the State of New York.
This past weekend, a man was arrested for DWI for allegedly driving intoxicated on a lawnmower.
New York State Police arrested John M. Ormsby, 58, of Schuyler Falls for DWI. Believe it or not, Ormsby was driving his lawnmower through an intersection in Schuyler Falls when he was pulled over. His blood-alcohol level was 0.22 and was placed under arrest.
Ormsby was charged with Felony DWI, Felony Aggravated DWI, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 1st degree, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the Second Degree.
That was not all that Ormsby was in trouble for, however. He was transported to the Clinton County Jail for an active arrest warrant, which was unrelated to the DWI charges on his lawnmower.
I'm not sure how you can even get the lawnmower to an intersection like that before getting pulled over. It reminds me of the movie Mystery, Alaska when a character was pulled over while driving a Zamboni intoxicated, which I'm sure has been done before, right?
I don't think I've ever heard of anyone getting pulled over on a lawnmower, though, especially at an intersection like that.
