McDonald’s Removing This From Stores In New York State

There is no such thing as a free lunch. You have heard that your entire life. While that may be true, there has been free pop and soft drinks. The next time you go to a McDonald's, you will not be able to grab your own refill!

When you are on a road trip, there is a good chance that you are stopping at McDonald's at some point. It is one of those things that is always consistent and family favorite. Our kids love Happy Meals and although we try not to go all the time, we treat them after school every now and again.

But the best part of McDonald's, and any fast food joint, is the convenience of not having to cook food and it is just that, fast! Want a burger now? Get a burger now. But McDonald's, like most companies is always looking to grow and adapt.

McDonald’s announced this week that it’s eliminating the self-serve soda (pop) machines at its U.S. restaurants due to changes in consumer behavior since the pandemic.

As for the debate about pop versus soda, it is not only a Western New York thing. I work with a person who grew up in Indiana and THEY call it pop! It may be a mid-west regional thing?
