Meet Sesame Street’s Newest Homeless Character

The newest character on the show Sesame Street has been introduced!

In an effort to teach kids that there are others less fortunate, the creators of Sesame Street have welcomed 7 year old Lily!

According to NY Daily News:

The pink-felted, 7-year-old Lily was first introduced in 2011 to help viewers understand hunger and food insecurity, but a new series of videos will explore how she learns to cope when her family loses their home and she’s forced to stay with friends on Sesame Street.

My father used to teach us about other less fortunate by saying "not every has had the advantages you have." I have never forgotten those words and try to teach my kids the same thing!
