Taste Of Country 2013: The Year We Had 2 Grammy Winners On Stage

The lineup for the 2013 Taste of Country concert was so big that not only was our headliner a Grammy winner, but the first act on the bill was too!

We're getting ready for the 2026 Towne Auto Taste of Country. It's going to be our 25th anniversary, and as it is with any anniversary, we're looking back at some of the years that got us here. Today, we're remembering the 2013 Taste of Country when we had not one Grammy winner there, but two!

The 2013 Taste of Country Lineup

Not only were there Grammy winners on this lineup, but another artist who was returning to the show, a group of singers, and an actress who had just won a "New Female Vocalist of the Year" award at the ACMs the year before.

The show was definitely highlighted by the presence of Darius Rucker and Sheryl Crow. But it was a huge bonus to have Rodney Atkins back, and one of the stars of "One Tree Hill" and other shows, Jana Kramer, who was just named New Female Vocalist of the Year.

Sheryl Crow was so approachable

When getting ready for this show, I kind of thought these stars would be a little unapproachable. The star power was pretty high that night. Darius Rucker, at this point, had been a legit country star for a couple of years now, and already had a bunch of accolades with his band "Hootie & The Blowfish." But Darius is about as nice as they get. He's just a really nice guy.

Sheryl Crow turned out to be just as friendly. She was just trying to get her own country career started, which is why she was so far down on the bill. She had her family with her. As a matter of fact, while she was standing backstage, our CEO at the time had asked if he could take a picture with her. She was holding her son and just quickly asked if I would hold him while she took the picture. It was the weirdest thing in the world at the time to realize that I was holding a Grammy winner's son. She just handed him over to me briefly while she took the pic.

Then she got on stage and put on a headliner's concert to start the show. It was a really cool moment to experience.
