The NFL Scouting Combine gets underway this week at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, which means that draft season is officially here for fans.

Before the NFL Draft gets here, however, free agency will happen. Unrestricted free agents will be able to sign with any team starting at 4 pm on March 16th, which is when the new league year starts.

Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane and head coach Sean McDermott both spoke to the media on Tuesday afternoon, discussing the recent hires and promotions on the Bills coaching staff.

Ken Dorsey was promoted from quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator to the new offensive coordinator, while former Carolina Panthers offensive coordinator was hired as the Bills new quarterbacks coach.

Beane and McDermott also discussed pending free agents, including the Bills backup quarterback during the 2021 season, Mitchell Trubisky.

Trubisky barely played in 2021 behind Josh Allen, but from the sounds of it, the Bills are preparing to move on without Trubisky for 2022.

McDermott said it's "unrealistic" to believe Trubisky will be back and that he will get a shot somewhere else.

Beane said that he believes Trubisky will get a chance to start somewhere else in the league.

With just how many teams there are that need a veteran quarterback to compete for a starting position next season, I agree with the consensus that Trubisky will not be back with the Bills.

The New York Giants are a destination that is getting thrown out because of the connection with former Bills assistant general manager Joe Schoen and former offensive coordinator Brian Daboll, but from all indications, Daniel Jones will remain the starter.

Trubisky will likely want to go to a team that has an opening at starting quarterback. The Pittsburgh Steelers and Washington Commanders come to mind immediately.

Beane also stressed the fact the Bills need to make sure they lockdown a good backup quarterback, because of how aggressive Josh Allen plays.

Notable quarterbacks who are slated to be unrestricted free agents this spring include Ryan Fitzpatrick, Cam Newton, Andy Dalton, Marcus Mariota and Teddy Bridgewater.

The Buffalo Bills Shouldn't Sign These 5 Free Agents

As the Buffalo Bills get ready to head into next season and try to win the AFC East for the third time in a row and the Super Bowl for the first time, there are some players we don't want to see at One Bills Drive.
