
Monkey Found inside Home in Western New York
There was a monkey found in a Western New York and the story is wild. One of the neighbors told on the man who was keeping the monkey as an illegal pet inside of his house.
The incident happened at a home in Grand Island, New York and the Department of Environmental Conservation
Every once in a while we hear of these crazy stories that happened in Western New York. To a man in Hamburg with a massive 10 foot alligator hanging in his house to a monkey living in a bedroom in Grand Island. It was kept illegally, but worse then that the spider monkey was not cared for and it had a broken wrist and seemed malnourished. The monkey was taken and brought to a sanctuary will it will spend its days and be properly cared for. The incident happened in April 2026. You can see a picture of the monkey below!

There are so many different categories that have different laws that pertain to them from New York State. For example, there is a section on rules for breeding alligators in New York State and there is a section for selling and possessing horns and tusks from elephants and rhinos in New York State.
There are a lot of laws when it comes to endangered and dangerous animals in New York State. For example, the New York State DEC website says:
This license authorizes the purchase, possession, import, and sale of animals listed as Dangerous Animals, for scientific, educational, exhibition, zoological, or propagation purposes.
