In radio, we work in a place that constantly requires pens.  From editing a story on paper to signing transmitter logs, we always need to have pens around.  But because we also work in multiple studios, those pens seem to always “have legs.”  We've got tons of pencils as you can see in the picture...just no pens!  If you say, “Why can’t I ever find___” then this post is for you.

It’s amazing the things that we seem to lose.  They’re always in the last place you look right?  They’re things that can seem so insignificant until you really need them.  A sock for example isn’t a big deal in the large scheme of things.  But how much does it stink when we only have one sock come out of the dryer?  And where the heck does that other sock go??

Here’s a list of things that I seem to lose all the time:

  1.  Pens – these are things that cost nearly nothing but when you need one they never seem to be around.  Businesses seem to give them away every chance they get but can you ever find one when you need one?
  2. One sock – Because a pair of socks just isn’t the same when you’ve only got one.
  3. Keys – Whether it be for the house or the car, if you don’t have them, you’re either stuck at home or maybe stuck away from home.
  4. Remote control – Remember back in the day when you had to actually get out of your seat to change the channel on the TV?  What’s funny is that if you lose the remote control, you’ll walk around your entire house trying to find the thing before you’ll just walk up to the TV to change the channel.
  5. Sunglasses – These are pretty much the easiest things to lose because sunny days here in Buffalo are so on again - off again that you could have put them anywhere.  You set them down and don’t need them for another couple days.  Then good luck finding them when you do need them.

Have you got something that should be added to this list?  What do you find yourself losing all the time?
