New York State will fund a one-million dollar study to determine the best location for a new Buffalo train station and Mayor Byron Brown will be the chairman of the study committee.  The new station will replace a small station of Exchange Street downtown that was closed temporarily last week when part of its roof collapsed. It was just last week when Governor Cuomo was in town that he read about the Exchange Street station and mentioned it to the mayor.  One condition of the study is that it be completed within six months.

Three locations are favored for the new station; Canalside, Larkinville and the old Central Terminal.  Congressman Brian Higgins and the Buffalo Common Council prefer the Central Terminal.  Higgins says he's asked the state Department of Transportation to set aside $25-million in the 2019-2020 budget for further studies on what needs to be done to bring a new train station to Buffalo.
