There is new legislation in New York regarding guns.

The "Red Flag" gun law is a first for the United States and gives family members and educators the right to essentially raise a "red flag" about someone they feel is a threat to themselves or to others.

Metro Source News reports that:

Governor Cuomo signed the Red Flag Bill yesterday which allows teachers and family members who suspect someone poses harm to report it to a judge.  The judge can then evaluate and determine whether the person's guns should be confiscated.

Those not in favor of this law have concerns that this goes around due process and that it is one step closer to an all out ban on guns in New York State.
