As National Police Week approaches next week, nice to hear that New York State ranks nearly at the very top of the best states in the country for police officers.  The personal-finance website WalletHub used 20 different categories to determine the Best and Worst States in the Country to be a Police Officer.  Overall, New York came out at number 3.

WalletHub compared categories like Median Income Growth for Police Officers, Police Officers per Capita, Violent Crime Rate, Property Crime Rate, Percentage of Homicides Solved, Police Protection Expenses per Capita and Road Safety.

Those categories were compared among all 50 states and the District of Columbia and here are some of the results:

New York State ranked #5 in Most Law Enforcement Officers per Capita.

New York State ranked #3 Highest Police Protection Expenses per Capita.

New York State ranked #2 in Opportunity and Competition

New York State ranked #12 in Quality of Life
