New York State Residents Get New Alcohol WARNING
There is a new reminder to anyone in New York State who enjoys a glass of their favorite booze this month.
The cold winter air is settling in across New York State and, according to some reports, it will be an arctic plunge in temperatures! The cold and snow are gripping much of the United States and winter storm warnings have been posted from Buffalo to Albany.
But the cold weather brings with it another danger, especially to those who are going to be celebrating outdoors.

The air temperatures are going to dip to single digits and the wind chill/real feel will be well below zero over the course of the next few days. Drinking alcohol can pose a risk to your health.
According to at least on report: "Drinking alcohol makes blood vessels near your skin open up, with more blood flowing into them and creating a feeling of warmth on your skin. But the blood being diverted away from your vital central organs can cause your core temperature to drop – something which, left unchecked, can lead to hypothermia".
There are thousands of football fans who will be cheering on the Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens in Western New York this weekend. The playoff game will take place outdoors and this is another reminder to be safe when dealing with the cold. Dress in layers and remember to mix in a non-alcohol selection to help keep your body hydrated.
I have had frost bite in the past and it is no fun at all. It creeps up on you after your skin in numb from the cold. The burning and scabbing after the fact is also something you want to avoid.
Th forecast does indicate a return to more normal temperatures as we get closer to the weekend.
