Popular, Old West Seneca Restaurant Sold…Again
The new SOLD sign is out front on Clinton Street. Who finally bought it and what is it going to be? The old Nickel Creek Cafe has been sold and for a good amount, too.
Nickel Creek was the bomb. It was arguably one of the greatest neighborhood pubs in Western New York. You could go there on any given Friday or Saturday night and get the greater panko chicken sandwich all while the bar area sings 'Piano Man' at the top of their lungs and sways back and forth.
Nickel Creek closed their doors nearly 3 years ago.
It was sold and became the 'Standard restaurant, which was a higher-end seafood and steak place. Now that I think about it, I'm not sure if it even officially opened. The owners had quite the saga with the New York State Liquor Authority shortly after it bought the place and was then permanently closed. Apparently, the owner couldn't get a liquor license and put it in someone else's name. Enter the liquor authority. That was the end of that chapter.
Well, it finally sold AGAIN 2 years alter.
The property was sold in October 2020: $240,000
Asking price May 2022: $590,000
