I know during the Halloween season sometimes there aren’t a lot of activities for the younger children to do.  It’s supposed to be a spooky time of the year but with little children you don’t really want to scare the silly out of them.  The next thing you know they are all stuffed in the bed up all night with you.  This holiday why not try some of these not so scary activities!

This weekend and next weekend at the Buffalo Zoo is their Howl-O-Ween Hayrides.  I’ve gone to this year in the past and I will say the little kids love it!   It’s the 15th year for the event and each year they go all out.  Everyone will get a chance to enjoy the treat station that are set up at each animal house,  hayrides, games for the kids, and of course there will be apple cider and donuts!  What kind of Halloween party will it be if there wasn’t apple cider and donuts!  Along with that the Zoo does encourage the children to come dressed up in their Halloween costume because during the event they can join in on the costume parade!  The evening will offer an early, safe, and fun Halloween experience for kids of all ages.  Howl-O-Ween Hayrides at the Buffalo Zoo is open this weekend and next weekend from 4:30pm to 7pm.

Another event for little children that you might want to check out Halloween stuff that isn’t scary is the Holiday Hollow Halloween and Pirate Festival !   The festival is a non-scary fun filled event that’s setup like a Renaissance Fair.  The event has hours of entertainment that will keep you busy the entire time.  During the festival they have 7 live shows and a dozen of other attractions for you to venture through.  Some of the attractions include the comic Haunted Forest Adventure, famous Captain Hook & Mr. Smee outdoor comedy action sword fighting pirate show on a 50 foot pirate ship set, the Talking Pumpkins, and my favorite the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party Show.  Along with those activities make sure you check out Hook’s Maze, the pumpkins, and food!  The Halloween and Pirate Festival is located on Main Street in Corfu and is open weekends till the end of October.
