New York State Police Make Multiple Arrests In WNY For Theft, Drugs, And More
New York State Police Troopers have been pretty busy here in Western New York, arresting multiple people for a variety of crimes. Here's the arrest round-up for the past week:
Lockport Man Arrested By NYSP For Larceny And Controlled Substance
On September 25, 2022, Troopers out of SP Lockport arrested a 45-year-old Lockport man for Petit Larceny and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. Troopers were called to a Napa Autoparts on Transit Road in Lockport for suspicion of a shoplifter. Shawn M. Munt allegedly stole merchandise from the store. He also had a controlled substance, not in its original container, in his possession. He was arrested and taken to the SP precinct in Lockport for processing. Munt is due in the town of Lockport court later in October.
NYSTP Troopers Arrest Niagara Falls Man For DWI
A 57-year-old Niagara Falls man was arrested by SP Niagara on September 24, at 6:35 pm, for Driving While Intoxicated and other traffic infractions. Merton J. Kreps Jr. was arrested after Troopers responded to the intersection of Military Road and Witmer Road in the town of Niagara for an accident. He allegedly smelled of alcohol and was placed under arrest. Krep failed multiple field sobriety tests and his blood alcohol content was .12%. He was taken to SP Niagara for processing. Krep is due back in the town of Niagara court later in October.
Delevan Woman Arrested On Grand Larceny Charges
A 40-year-old Town of Delevan woman was arrested by State Police out of Machias on September 23, for Grand Larceny, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, Criminal Trespass, and Petit Larceny. Rachel A. Holland allegedly had two stolen vehicles and stolen property in her possession. She was arrested by Troopers and arraigned in Yorkshire Town Court. Holland was released under supervision and is due to return to court in October.
Two Tonawanda Residents Arrested By NSYP For Stealing From Walmart
Troopers out of SP Clarence responded to a call about two people allegedly shoplifting from the Walmart store on Transit Road in the town of Clarence on September 22. Loss-prevention told police that the 37-year-old and 34-year-old women had stolen items valued at $187.40. NYSP Troopers arrested Sara R. Matthews and Julie A. Berst for Petit Larceny. The women were taken to the SP precinct in Clarence for processing. They will return to the town of Clarence court at a later date.
NYSP Arrest Grand Island Woman For DWI
State Police out of Clarence arrested a 37-year-old Grand Island woman for Driving While Intoxicated. On September 21, Troopers arrested Erin M. Wilson after receiving a complaint about an intoxicated person on East River Road in the town of Grand Island. Wilson, who failed field sobriety tests, was allegedly driving a vehicle while under the influence. She was arrested and taken to the State Police precinct in Grand Island, where she refused to take a chemical test. After she was processed Wilson was given a ticket and released. She is due to return to the Town of Grand Island court at a later date.
Allegany Man Arrested for Felony DWI
Troopers out of SP Olean observed a vehicle allegedly committing traffic infractions on Four Mile Road in the Town of Allegany on September 20, at 2:34 am. Troopers pulled over the vehicle, which was operated by a 47-year-old Allegany man. Jeffrey M. Gray was arrested for felony Driving while Intoxicated, Obstruction of Governmental Administration, and, other vehicle and traffic infractions. He entered a home and refused to show Troopers identification. Gray was arrested and transported to SP Olean. The felony DWI charge is due to a previous DWI conviction within 10 years. He was issued a ticket to return to Allegany Town Court in October.
Portville Man Arrested For DWAI-Drugs And Fentanyl
NYSP Troopers out of SP Olean arrested 41-year-old Shawn G. Woodring, of Portville for DWAI-Drugs, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, and other traffic infractions. On September 18, Troopers responded to a single-vehicle accident on Barbertown Road in the town of Portville. Troopers determined that he was allegedly under the influence of drugs at the time of the crash. After searching Woodring's car, Troopers found approximately 15 grams of fentanyl. He was arrested and transported to SP Olean for processing. He is due back in court in October.
