This week's Hometown Hero is originally from Buffalo. It's a guy who joined the Army to help support his family. It's 40-year-old Army Sergeant William Finken!

This week’s nomination came from William’s daughter Holley and reads:

My dad William Finken joined the military 4 years ago in order for his family to have job security and health insurance. He worked at GM from 15 years and was laid off. My middle sister had a baby and my dad was afraid GM was not going to work through the financial struggles so he joined the army. He went to boot camp and then was stationed in Hawaii... 2 years in the army he was deployed to Afghanistan. My dad is my hero, some people's heroes wear capes, mine wears combat boots. He made this decision to put his life on the line without any thought. He just wanted his family to be okay! At 40 years old I think that is pretty damn awesome!

We do too! That’s why we would like to name him this week’s Hometown Hero! Thank you for everything you do not only for your family, but also for your country, Sergeant Finken.
