Beloved Hamburg Restaurant is Closing Permanently
Western New York has a long and storied history of family-run restaurants. The local restaurants that are scattered throughout the City of Buffalo and the surrounding suburbs make up a huge piece of the community.
It’s been a rough past four years for the industry, as many amazing restaurants in Western New York have closed for good.
Unfortunately, another one announced its closure after 30-plus years in business down in Hamburg.
According to its Facebook page, Peg‘s Place in Hamburg is closing its doors for good. They have operated there for over three decades.
The reason is because of extensive repairs that are needed for the building/property and they came to the difficult decision to close the restaurant.
Last month, Peg’s Place posted that they would be closed for a while longer as the repairs to their property were more challenging than first anticipated. A month later, they have made the tough decision to close.
Peg’s Place has been a haven for numerous south towns residents. Whether it’s breakfast, lunch or dinner, it’s been an amazing asset to families who want an affordable, quality meal at any time of day.
My parents live nearby and they have been to Peg’s Place, along with Red Top hot dogs, which is across the way.
Peg’s Place says they will continue their tradition at the new Johnson’s Landing brewery and restaurant, which is next door and recently opened. They’re offering gift cards to Johnson’s Landing in exchange for Peg’s Place gift cards. They will honor any catering that is already on he books as well.
