Just in time for July being National Ice Cream Month, Western New York’s favorite ice cream brand, Perry’s Ice Cream, is about to get even bigger and better.

Perry's Ice Cream Is Expanding

Perry’s Ice Cream, known for an insane number of delicious flavors that you can find at ice cream shops and grocery stores all over Western New York, recently announced that they’ll be adding an additional 20,000 sq. feet to their Akron facility to make…wait for it… ice cream on a stick!

This expansion won’t come cheap, though - it’s expected to cost in the ballpark of $18 million.

According to Gayle Denning, Perry’s vice president of strategic planning and sustainability,

“The company has identified an opportunity in the market for premium extruded stick novelties in its Perry’s branded portfolio of ice creams,” said Gayle Denning, the vice president of strategic planning and sustainability.”

Perry's Ice Cream History

Originally founded by H. Morton Perry in 1918 as a dairy delivery business, Perry’s (then known as Perry’s Dairy) expanded into the delicious world of ice cream after the Akron High School cafeteria manager asked Perry if he would be able to supply ice cream for the students. Perry then started experimenting with a family ice cream recipe given to him by his mother, and Perry’s Ice Cream was born.

Today, Perry’s Ice Cream is still a family business, and boasts more than130 flavors of ice cream, sherbet, frozen yogurt, and other novelties - and Western New York loves all of them…

Like Cloud Nine, filled with sour raspberry swirls…

Coffee and Donuts (yum…)

Or Blueberry Cheesecake!

Perry’s already has a stellar lineup of ice cream bars on a stick that we love, like Strawberry Sundae Crunch…

Orange Buddy Bars

And Barista Bars

Perry’s has said the development of certain flavors and products is currently in the works, and we can expect to see them on our grocery store shelves and local ice cream shops in September of 2023.

If Perry’s upcoming ice cream bars on a stick are as delicious as these, we know we’re in for a treat!
