Plaxico Burress Out Of Jail And Going Back To The NFL

Maybe you've heard of this guy. He used to play for the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Giants.  He probably got his biggest noteriety a few years ago when he accidentally shot himself in the thigh when the illegal handgun he was carrying discharged inside of a nightclub. Yahoo.com is reporting that after spending two years in jail, Plaxido Buress has just signed a one-year deal with the New York Jets for 3.017 million dollars. Apprently the extra $17,000 is because he used to wear the number 17.

It amazes me the way these NFL guys are able to do a jail sentence and then get rehired by the league. I believe in forgiveness, but stories like this one scare me. I hope this guy has learned his lesson.
