The COVID-19 pandemic is over a year old and as numbers of positive cases go up around Erie County, so do the amount of available vaccine clinics in the region. Buffalo residents can take advantage of a pop-up clinic in the city this Saturday.

According to reports, the pop-up vaccination clinic is taking place Saturday at the William-Emslie Family YMCA on William Street in Buffalo. Shots will be given between nine a-m and two-pm and pre-registration is going to be required.

While you may not be required to get a vaccine, many places and events around the country are setting up special areas designated for those who have been vaccinated.Just this week it was announced the NBA teams are making vaccination only sections. This is not only for health reasons but to encourage those who are on the fence to get a vaccine.

Erie County has been seeing a rise in variants of the COVID virus and they seem to be more contagious than previous strains. This could be the reason for larger amounts of positive cases around the WNY area lately. Stay vigilant and stay safe and use common sense this weekend if you plan to celebrate Easter with others.
