Is This A MASSIVE Raccoon Wandering In Hamburg, New York?
The weather is about to change again here in Western New York! While we have been enjoying the sunshine and warmth, the forecast has been calling for strong storms and falling temperatures.
But Mother Nature is not waiting for the weather to get any better as the wildlife is still on the go and we are seeing more and more wild animals in our neighborhoods and on trail cameras in Western New York.
Have you spotted a bear, deer or other animal in your backyard yet? If not, it may only be a matter of time.
KEEP SCROLLING FOR LARGE RACCOON VIDEO
It is that time of the year when we will start to see the deer fawns being born. Keep in mind, mother deer (doe) might leave their fawns alone in high grass or brush piles around your property on purpose and like any other animals, the DEC suggests we just let them be.
But it is not just a healthy population of whitetail deer that I have been spotting. There are raccoons everywhere! I drive to work at 3:30 everyday and on most days, I see at least one or two crossing the roads. I also see many fox and occasionally, a coyote!
But this critter was prowling around our driveway this past week and thankfully kept on strolling without getting in to our trash cans!
But this is not just a Western New York issue. There are some towns that have had so many raccoon/human interactions that they have had to warn the residents!
According to a report at WYRK.com, residents are being asked to stay away from any raccoon or other animal that is not acting quite right and contact wildlife officials or the DEC.
