Rasmus Dahlin is going to the Olympics
Congratulations to current Buffalo Sabres captain Rasmus Dahlin on being selected to play at the upcoming Olympic Games. This morning (6/16), the 12 teams that are qualified for men’s hockey at the upcoming Olympics announced the first six players on their teams. Dahlin was chosen to represent Sweden.
You may remember Dahlin was playing for Sweden this past February at the 4 Nations Face-Off in Montreal and Boston. This will be a return to the Olympics for NHL Players
This year will be one of the first years since 2014 that NHL Players will be able to represent their home country at the Olympics. The last time that happened former Buffalo Sabres Zemgus Girgensons [Latvia], Ryan Miller [USA], Henrik Tallinder [Sweden], and Jhonas Enroth [Sweden] were all there.
Dahlin had a solid year in 2024-2025
Despite the Sabres once again missing the NHL playoffs, Dahlin had a decent year. He scored 17 goals and 51 assists for a total of 68 points in 73 games, ranking him fourth among NHL defensemen in scoring. He was also named to the NHL All-Star Game for the third consecutive year.
