Roadwork On The 400 Will Slow You Down Next Week
Road Construction season continues across Western New York next week as work along the 400 will begin.
Currently, there are several projects underway that have a big impact on your daily commute. Work on the 290 is currently underway along with milling on route 5.
Now commuters will see delays along the 400 starting on Monday. Daily lane closures are expected from 9 am until 3 pm on the 400 northbound from the Union Road exit to the Seneca Street exit.
Nightly lane closures along the 400 will begin in two weeks starting on Monday, August 23rd. These closures will happen between 6 pm and 6 am nighly.
The New York State DOT estimated that this road work should take 4 weeks to complete depending on the weather.
They also remind motorists that you should move over and slow down anytime you pass a roadside vehicle with its lights flashing.
There are some other major road projects that could slow you down this week as well. Road work along the 90 between exit 53 and exit 50a will start today and should be completed by Friday.
Also, bridgework continues along the 190 between exits 11 and 9. This road work will start around 7 pm nightly and last until 6 am. You will see at least one lane closed in each direction due to this construction work.
Roadwork along the 90 westbound near Hamburg at exited 55 thru 57 continues this week as well as crew install guardrails. Work near the Sliver Creek exit on the 90 westbound will continue this week too. That project is expected to be completed by the weekend barring any weather delays.
