Former Bills Receiver Has Emotional Moment With Rams Teammate

It's definitely a sour taste for Bills fans, watching another year go by with no trip to the Super Bowl, even though many here in Buffalo watched the Bills almost make it. We all know how the ending of the AFC Divisional Round went though.

While the Bills are not involved, there are some Buffalo connections with Super Bowl LVI.

One of them is former Bills wide receiver, Robert Woods.

Woods was drafted by the Bills in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft. He spent four seasons in Buffalo, and while the Bills did not make the playoffs in his four seasons here, Woods was well-regarded by fans.

Woods signed a free agent contract with the Los Angeles Rams in 2017 and had enjoyed the best success of his career with the Rams and head coach Sean McVay.

He caught 86 passes in 2018 and followed that up with back-to-back 90 catch seasons in 2019 and 2020. Woods was doing well in 2021 with newly traded-for quarterback, Matthew Stafford, when his season was cut short with a torn ACL in November.

Woods missed the last eight games of the regular season, and the entirety of the Rams' postseason run, which has led them to the Super Bowl.

Fellow wide receiver Cooper Kupp shared a very emotional moment after the Rams beat the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship game.

Woods and Kupp embraced one another in a long hug.

It's bittersweet for Woods to be get the chance to play in his second Super Bowl, but it's great to see teammates like Kupp embrace him for this moment.
