Valentine's Day is on a Saturday this year, which means, if you're planning on going out for a nice romantic dinner, you're going to need to lock down your reservations right away.

Valentine's Day being On A Saturday Can Be Good OR Bad

There are two ways to look at the challenge of having Valentine's Day on a Saturday. On one hand, you could imagine that a lot of people will be going out for dinner. It's the perfect opportunity to finally hit up a fancy restaurant that you've been hoping to try. That means that it might be tough to get a reservation.

However, if you're flexible with your time, it might be even easier to get a reservation. Instead of having to land reservations for the couple of hours when people will be out of work, you might be able to choose from more times throughout the day. Instead of getting the coveted 7 pm reservation, maybe you could get one around 4 (or earlier). You just have to hope that the restaurant you choose is open throughout the day.

Romantic doesn't need to mean expensive on Valentine's Day

While this list does include some of the more expensive restaurants in Western New York, it doesn't have to be expensive to be romantic. It's one of the things I've always hated about this "holiday." It's not about how much you spend. It's simply about the gestures you use to show someone you love them.

Maybe you have a cozy place that serves a specific ethnic dish that your significant other absolutely loves. Maybe it's a dive, but it's the place where you went on your first date. Show someone you love them by the thought you put into it, not the price tag on the menu.

We have a bunch of incredible restaurants here in Western New York that will definitely be in demand. Here are just a handful of them:
