Boo!

Did I scare you?

Probably not, but don’t worry. There are plenty of local haunted houses that are gearing up to give you goose bumps and make you scream as loud as you can. Leave the scaredy-cats at home because these houses will be bringing you the most terrifying experiences imaginable for Halloween 2012.

House of Horrors and Haunted Catacombs
3757 Union Rd in Cheektowaga (October 17)

This haunted complex provides not one but SIX different houses to scare you! Each house has a different theme -- buried alive, toxic gas chamber...even a house that requires you to wear 3-D glasses.

Frightworld America's Screampark
3097 Sheridan Drive in Amherst (September 21)

Frightworld has been terrifying Buffalo for over 10 years! This complex also features multiple themed houses to keep the experience new and exciting. Frightworld is known for its attention to detail, including a vast graveyard with two 400-gallon swamps. They're so scary that the Travel Channel even featured them as one of "America's Scariest Halloween Attractions."

Final Fear
5600 McKinley Parkway in Hamburg (September 29)

Final Fear boasts that it is "WNY's Scariest Haunted House." The Hamburg Fairgrounds will never look the same once you enter their five different themed houses. Last year was a first for Final Fear -- they featured Western New York's first-ever interactive Haunted House, Zombie Attack.

District of the Dead
2309 Eggert Road, Tonawanda (October 4)

District of the Dead is a newcomer to the haunted house game, but it's certainly making an impact. One of their newest houses for 2012 is the Lake Effect House. This is a frozen wasteland, where the power has gone out, and there is nothing but a flickering flashlight to see with.
