Buffalo is an amazing city for a ton of reasons, but the most significant reason is the people who have built up the community we live in today. Buffalo has seen a resurgence in recent years, and that's thanks to hard-working men and women who have put their passions to work for Western New York.

The goal of our newest segment, Shiftwork, is to highlight those movers and shakers in Buffalo and beyond who have put in the work to make our community as great as it is. We are teaming up one of Buffalo's greatest philanthropists, Russell Salvatore of Russell's Steaks, Chops and More, to bring you the very best of Buffalo business.

Each month we will highlight a different entrepreneur--I'll get a chance to chat with them to discuss how they've gotten where they are, the steps that got them there, and what the city of Buffalo means to them.

In this episode, I sat down with Robert Fox, Co-Owner of Runner's Roost.

Robert has had an interesting road that led him to Runner's Roost. He's a true example of how winding the path can be for a local entrepreneur. I do some advertisements for Runner's Roost, and I'm a customer myself. One of the things I love most about shopping there is that the staff is comprised entirely of runners--something that Robert attributes a lot of his success to. It's a brilliant business strategy if you ask me!
